Design & Inspiration ‘The Beautiful Game’ is a stylish and unique full-size silk pocket square and has been created in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent based American artist Paine Proffitt, whose unmistakable style might best be summed up as contemporary naïve art. The romance and nostalgia of sport is central to Paine’s work, reflecting sport’s importance in defining and shaping us. Painted in acrylic on canvas, Paine's original work was inspired by his love for the true essence of football and the work immerses us in ‘the feelings, the reality, the glory and heartache, the love and disappointment, and the beauty of the game.’ The artwork is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse sides of the silk pocket square so works perfectly with any pocket square fold. The image is framed by the pocket square’s twin borders of blue and off-white together with navy blue hand-rolled & hand-sewn hem. 'The Beautiful Game' is presented in a complimentary branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the high-quality vintage football silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork. Size Full-size silk pocket square, 42cm x 42cm (16.5” x 16.5”). Dimensions may vary slightly following the printing and manufacturing process as silk is a natural material. Material Composition & Care High-quality 100% Mulberry silk woven into 15oz silk twill gives the characteristic sheen and cool touch as well as ensuring the pocket square sits nicely in the top pocket. Silk should always be dry cleaned. Avoid pressing the hand-finished hem to preserve its distinctive 'shoestring' shape.
